The Benefits of Hosting Others

The Benefits of Hosting Others

guest post by Jo Linsdell

A book tour has long been known as one of the most effective ways of creating a buzz about your book and growing your author brand. With internet you now have the opportunity to do a virtual book tour and reach even more people whilst leaving a virtual footprint that will keep your marketing efforts working for you long after the event is over.

The benefits of doing virtual book tours are numerous: collecting reviews, creating a buzz about your book, increased sales, can help become a best seller, strengthening author brand... the list goes on. What I want to share with you today though is the benefits of hosting.
I recently filmed this video where I talk about the benefits of hosting others.

  1. Jo, I definitely note the high number of page views I get from hosting others talking about their books, or marketing or writing techniques. A win win situation especially as these posts continue to attract attention. Thanks for sharing this with us. Book looks good.

    1. Thanks Annie, both for your comment and for hosting me. I love this blog <3

A lot of people stop at the "it's a nice gesture", and whilst that's true, there's so many more benefits to hosting others.

    3. Nice post...I definitely believe in hosting guests on my blog, and yes, it IS a nice gesture. I sure don't mind the karma points. But it's also a good tool for pulling in traffic that might not have found you otherwise, building relationships with guests, and even learning from what other people are doing.

Oh, the comment box works fine for me, and I like the dynamic view! It's sleek, simple, and easy to read.

    4. Rose--thank you so much and so glad you found the comment box. I've been hunting for it since this morning when your post came in to my email. Visited your blogs and am in awe of how you manage to keep them all going. Shared your Nano post on Google+--great ideas there I had not thought about-- and studying your tidies--do I need one. At the minute, it's an obstacle course rather than a kitchen floor. lol

  2. Thanks for your comment Rose. I've been hosting others on my blogs for years and I've learnt so much from them. It's a fun way to network and build relationships too. It's a win for guest, hosts, and readers ;)

    1. Thanks, Karen. Still tweaking but so glad you managed to find the comments box. lol. Been hunting for it again all day! Going to take your advice and create a landing page somewhen soon, too.
Jo's guest post just goes to prove the trend. As always, guest posts treble the number of page views/visitors. And I get to meet and network more.
